Forgepoint Engineering — mechanical design consultancy run by engineers, for engineers. Fast-paced turnarounds, diligent quality work, and expert assistance at any stage of your project. No sales, no padding. Just solid engineering.
01 — Core Offer
Technical expertise at any stage of your project — feasibility, design, analysis, specification, or peer review. We engage fast, work diligently, and give you rigorous engineering thinking without the overhead of a permanent hire or the delay of a traditional consultancy. If you need it done quickly and done properly, this is the service.
From brief to 3D model to released-for-manufacture drawing pack — fast. We compress the design cycle without cutting corners, delivering complete fabrication-ready documentation so your manufacturer can build on day one.
Brief to commissioning, handled. We manage the complete project — design, equipment specification, competitive procurement, subcontractor coordination, site attendance, and handover. One point of contact. No gaps between disciplines.

We source and procure standard and non-standard components on your behalf — fasteners, bearings, seals, valves, structural sections, and proprietary parts. Saves you time and leverages our supplier network.
Bespoke tools and applications built to automate engineering processes — calculation engines, data pipelines, reporting tools, and workflow automation. We scope, build, and deliver working software tailored to your operation.
Structured engineering calculation sets to justify or advise on a design — load cases, thermal performance, fluid dynamics, structural assessment, and more. Delivered in a clear, auditable format suitable for client submission or regulatory review.
Formal engineering reports covering feasibility studies, design reviews, failure investigations, and technical due diligence. Written for technical and non-technical audiences, with clear conclusions and actionable recommendations. See also S-21 for expert opinion reports prepared for legal or insurance purposes.
We don't sell equipment — we specify the right product for your application and gather competitive quotations from our established supplier contacts on your behalf. You buy direct from the supplier at the best price we can negotiate. We charge a finders fee for this service.
We don't manufacture anything. We connect you with vetted fabrication shops and welding contractors from our network, gather quotes, and help you select the right supplier for your job. We can produce the drawings, scope the work, and manage the process — charging a coordination fee for our time.
We don't provide these services directly — but we know people who do. We connect you with trusted controls engineers, electrical contractors, and software developers from our professional network, gather quotes, and help coordinate multi-discipline delivery. A coordination fee applies.
Risk Assessments and Method Statements, Safe Systems of Work, and operational procedures written to a professional standard. Suitable for construction phase CDM documentation, installation and commissioning activities, and ongoing maintenance procedures. IOSH-qualified authorship.
Design of pressure vessels, pressure pipework, and associated systems to recognised standards including PED 2014/68/EU, UK Pressure Equipment Regulations, BS PD 5500, and EN 13445. Full supporting documentation including design calculations, material certification, and fabrication specifications.
Systematic investigation of in-service failures, underperforming designs, and recurring defects — identifying root cause and delivering a clear corrective action. Also available for design reviews and weight, cost, or performance optimisation of existing assemblies using FEA and first-principles analysis.
Independent engineering opinion delivered in formal report format — suitable for insurance claims, dispute resolution, procurement disputes, and technical due diligence. Written by a qualified mechanical engineer with 14 years of industrial experience and an MSc in Mechanical Engineering with Distinction.
Survey, installation supervision, FAT attendance, and commissioning support delivered on-site anywhere in the UK. Own van, commercial insurance — no reliance on third-party transport, no delays.
We move at pace when it matters — quick-turnaround design work, urgent analysis, and fast-scoped quotes for tricky situations. Every deliverable is carried out with the same attention to detail regardless of timescale. Speed is never an excuse for shoddy work.
03 — Sectors
04 — Partner Network
Forgepoint does not sell equipment, manufacture parts, or provide electrical or controls services directly. What we do is connect you to the right people and suppliers from a network built over 14 years in industry — gather competitive quotations, help you make the right selection, and coordinate delivery. We charge a transparent finders fee or coordination fee for this. You contract and pay the supplier directly.
05 — How We Work
We take on any mechanical brief. Tell us what you need — whether it's a single drawing, a full design study, or ongoing engineering support. We'll scope it precisely and turn around a quote quickly.
You receive a clear written scope of work with a fixed price or agreed day rate. No surprises. Client-driven changes beyond scope are handled transparently with updated quotes before work proceeds.
Our engineers get to work. We provide regular progress updates and issue deliverables in agreed formats — SolidWorks files, PDFs, DXFs, or any format your team requires.
We review outputs against scope, incorporate client feedback, and issue final revision-controlled documents. Anything outside our capability is subcontracted to specialist partners at no markup.
06 — Pricing
Hire Forgepoint engineers directly by the hour for detailing, drawing production, modelling, or any defined engineering task. Ideal for clients with ongoing requirements or burst capacity needs.
For defined projects — consultancy studies, full design packs, system designs — we provide a written scope and fixed price before any work begins. You know exactly what you're getting and what it costs.
07 — Our Team
Forgepoint is a collective of mechanical engineers and designers with experience spanning industrial manufacturing, building services, structural steelwork, and process engineering.
Where a project demands specialist expertise beyond our in-house capability, we draw on a trusted subcontractor network — so you always get the right engineer for the job, without having to source them yourself.
We keep overheads low and engineering quality high. No account managers, no unnecessary layers — just competent engineers doing the work.
